vision that combines a dreamy atmosphere with the ordinary. The artist uses
originality, plasticity, and elegance to open the viewer's eyes to scenes in which
the soul connects with the material plane. He demonstrates the interaction
between magic and everyday life, combining scary elements with humorous
visual elements that imply childishness, pop art, and fantasy. Just as the great
Western artists of the 20th century dealt with beauty, pain, death, and the
desire for eternity, they dealt with the old and eternal themes with modernity,
such as the unknown, magic, underground, and tribe.
About the author
until now, and studied Tingatinga Genre's paintings at the Goethe Institute in
Dar es Salaam. He began collaborating with the Frida Gallery in Tokyo in 1996,
and held an exhibition at the Reunion Museum in 1999. In 2000, he became an
artist under the Sarenko Foundation and participated in various exhibitions in
Kenya and Italy (Verona, Brescia, Naples, Siena, Rome, and Cuneo). The artist
participated in the Malindi Biennale four times, and won the Special Jury Prize
at the 2nd Biennale in 2008.
