Minju Kang2025.02.07 ~ 2025.05.23

Description of the work

  • Media Acrylic on canvas
  • Location 1F, The Lounge & Bar, LOTTE HOTEL WORLD
Minju Kang’s work navigates the delicate boundary between reality and unreality, often using ambiguous or paradoxical arrangements to blur the lines. Kang’s art is a visual manifestation of her inner world, capturing fleeting emotions and memories that reside beyond conscious awareness.
Though her backdrops depict real-life places and personal travels, Kang’s recollections are not told with accuracy, chronology, or logic. A cartoonish hotdog stand welcomes weary travelers to a resting place in the middle of a desert. Her compositions appear mundane at first glance but reveal humorous and nonsensical details upon closer inspection, offering an abstract glimpse into her internal monologue.
