“My actions are not repetitions of familiar gestures, but traces that emerge from a moment to moment intuition”
The artist composes the screen with various colors and planes, as if focusing on the act of drawing rather than painting, in an irregular manner, using the natural sculptural elements that appear in her head. She then abstracts the results of that act back to her sense of form. She chooses colors intuitively and draws the feelings derived from them as she goes. The artist aims for abstract art in that she tries to throw away the general concepts that are invisible to the eye and express the pure visuals and emotions that exist and project them into her paintings.

About the author
Based in three countries, Korea, France, and Belgium, LEE uses color boldly to create new combinations on canvas. She draws complementary lines on a monochromatic background that is seamlessly overlapped several times. The intertwining lines create an infinite sense of space and three-dimensionality on the canvas. The colors reveal their own characteristics and add to the visual effect by contrasting and harmonizing.
The artist creates and erases shapes through a series of actions, based on moment-to-moment intuition and constant observation. As the finished work is erased and layered again, the colors and shapes that were in the background become the main characters, and new shapes are created on top of them. In the flat plane, these layers create an infinite depth and a repetition of time and rhythm.
The artist has held a successful solo exhibition at L'H du Siège, the National Art Center of France, and is represented by Galerie Oniris in France, Marc Minjaw Gallery in Belgium, and Artside in Korea, and continues to be exhibited and collected internationally.
