It is a beautiful palace that is open during the day and at times, even at night. The Changing of the Royal Guard at Gyeongbokgung Palace is also popular among tourists. You can get to the palace from Gyeongbokgung Station on Line 3 or Gwanghwamun Station on Line 5. You’ll also find the National Folk Museum of Korea, National Museum of Contemporary Art, and National Palace Museum of Korea nearby the palace.

This Hanok Village is a five to 10 minute drive away from THE GRAND LOTTE SEOUL. The village boasts well-preserved traditional scenery, plus the Eight Views of Bukchon, the best photo spots in Bukchon Hanok Village. Have fun finding small shops and restaurants in every nook and cranny of the village. At Bukchon Hanok Village, adjacent to Samcheong-dong, you can learn about traditional Korean culture.

Inside Deoksugung Palace, conveniently located three to five minutes’ walk from THE GRAND LOTTE SEOUL, there is a beautiful garden and the National Museum of Contemporary Art. It is where Emperor Gojong of Joseon died and where the historical Korean royal refuge at the Russian legation (Agwan Pacheon) took place. The beautiful scenery of the Deoksugung Stone Wall Path is perfect for you to feel the quaint beauty of autumn. It is right by City Hall Station on subway Lines 1 and 2, adjacent to the Seoul Museum of Art.

Inside Changdeokgung Palace, located five to 10 minutes’ drive from THE GRAND LOTTE SEOUL, is the Secret Garden, designated as a world heritage site. Located near the Jongno Police Station and the Japanese Cultural Center, Unhyeongung Royal Residence is one such site.

Located a five to 10 minute drive from THE GRAND LOTTE SEOUL, Jongmyo is where ancestral rites are held for the Emperors and Empresses of history. Here you can watch traditional ancestral ceremonies and listen to royal music. It can be reached via Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station on lines 1 and 3 and is a great place to go for a tour, as it is right by the Jongno Jewelry Shopping Street and the Sewoon Electronics Plaza.

The Namsangol Hanok Village is comprised of five hanok houses and a traditional garden. It can be reached in five to 10 minutes by taxi from THE GRAND LOTTE SEOUL. Enjoy a view of Korea’s old yangban houses and various kinds of activities and games.

Samcheong-dong is connected to Bukchon Hanok Village and located at a five to 10 minute drive from THE GRAND LOTTE SEOUL. You can find many tourist attractions such as the Seoul National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, small galleries, restaurants, cafes, and hanbok rental shops.

The War Memorial of Korea, right by Samgakji Station, is about a 10 to 15 minute drive away from THE GRAND LOTTE SEOUL. Here, you can feel the pain of Korea as a divided nation.
