Samara Philharmonic Society is one of the most recognizable and the most beautiful buildings of the regional capital. It used to be the theatre-circus “Olymp” where such prominent singers as Shaljapin, Sobinov, Nezhdanova, Ojstrach and others performed.

The city pearl framed in the masterpieces of the old Samara architecture the Gorky Samara Academic Drama Theatre. The theatre palace on the bank of the Volga appears as a fairy tower-chamber. Samara Region Art Museum is one of the biggest museums in Russia, with the unique collection founded in 1897, which is exhibited in two buildings. The museum’s permanent expositions include about two thousand works of art, representing the following sections: Russian and foreign paintings, Oriental art, works of Samara painters, ceramics.

Situated at a depth of 37 meters, Stalin's Bunker Museum is one of the most interesting and mysterious museums in Samara. The bunker was constructed in 1942 especially for the Commander-in-Chief of the USSR, Joseph Stalin, to be used in case the Nazis took over Moscow in the course of the Second World War, and it would be necessary to relocate the capital to the city of Kuibyshev (modern-day Samara). In 1990, the bunker was declassified.
